- Father Quinel reveals three things in chapter 8. First, he reveals that Asta's son's name is Crispin, second he tells that Asta's son is wolf's head, and third he said that her mother could read and write and lastly said that lord furnival is ill and that he expected to die. He promises to tell about his father tomorrow.

Crispin encounters two dead men shortly after fleeing the village. How does each affect him?
- He finds out about Father Quinel's death and shed tears because the priest was helping him or because he was about to tell about his father and his mother.
