I'll tell you a story about a young lady named ‘Dot.’ One hot, sunny day, dot drank a bottle of coke. When she was done her coke, she felt as she drank another one than the coke. When she saw the bottle, it said ‘Coca Cola’ on the bottle. However, the taste left was not the coke she used to know before. After few seconds, she started to feel sleepy. She slept for about 5 hours, and woke up. When she woke up, there was a person who looked as a clown, and asked her where the bottle of coke was. She told her that she drank the coke, she started to choke Dot. Dot suffered for about a long moment, and suddenly her mom has woken her up. Dot found out that she has dreamed, but found out that the bottle of coke was gone.
Journal #2 I am Baptized now!
I took me a long time to come up to this point, and I was sometimes bored while doing the studies for this big and wonderful event. I worked very hard to make the tree of baptism grow taller and bigger, and today was the day that the most delicious fruit has come out of it. I was always wondering what the Blessed Sacrament tasted like, and I finally got to take god into my body, by tasting Jesus’s body. Although it took really long to get over all of the ceremonies for baptizing, I was very happy and not tired during the mass.
I have been trying hard to become baptized and be one of the children of the god. However, some people who are done with the studying for baptism sometimes not come to the church anymore. I am very worried if I would do that just because there is actually nobody to hold my hands and pull me up to the hill. I will do my best in the church, and always come to the mass except for when I have more important events. I will always remember this!
Journal #3 Describe someone who looks bored. Donʼt use any form of the words yawned or stared or sighed.
I am sitting in my English academy right now, and I am about to sleep, and if someone gives me some time to sleep, I would be able to sleep in a minute. When I peeked at my friend beside me, she was just looking at the board, without the focus in her eyes. Her eyes were almost shutting down, just like a door closing slowly. She was almost gaping once in half a minute, and she seemed like she was too tired and bored so she couldn’t write a word on her paper. Also, she seems like she doesn’t have any energy left because of the boring class, that she can’t even raise her hand to tell the answer to the class when she’s the only one who actually knows and has the answer. She finally gets into sleep, a sweet, but also boring sleep.
Journal #4 Close your eyes briefly. Think of one object that’s in the room and focus on it. Without opening your eyes, recall as much detail as you can about it. After 3 minutes or so, open your eyes and write about that object without looking at it.
The Clock has a round shape, a exact, perfect circle shape. It has three pointers in it, pointing the time of the day. It has a short, thick one, a long, thick one, and a long, thin and slim one. The thin one is the only red one, and it moves every second. The clock is stuck on the wall, and it is doing its work every day, even on the weekends. The short, thick one is pointing between the number 9 and 10. It has the name of where it belongs in between the middle and the top of the clock, and it says ‘KIS’ on it. The ‘KIS’ logo is colored blue, and the brown frame of the clock is keeping the clock safe and thick. The clock seems very strong, holding on to the nail behind it everyday, every second.

Journal #6 Describe your bedroom the way you want it to be.
I want my bedroom to have a major color of white, black, silver, and gold. The wallpaper would have the background color of white, and gold splashes in various sizes. The floor of my room would be made out of thick glasses, with the pictures of myself, and the celebrities that I love, such as Bigbang and 2pm.
I would only have basic furniture in my room, having a very simple style. My first furniture is my bed. The spread of my bed would be simple white, and a big gold splash, about 1/6 size of the bed. My desk would be black, with a stand of silver color, which has a bending neck and a touch power button. Also, my closet, which is actually inside the wall, would have a slide door with black color, and a gold splash. I would also have a small, white desk with an iPod speaker and my favorite music album in front of the speaker. I would have a poster of G-Dragon, who just released a solo album. I would have a place to put all of my music CDs, organized by categories, and the artists. My bookshelf would be gold, really simple.

1. The follow-you printer at school didn't work today, because the computer got re-imaged, but my ID card didn't.

I couldn't become a class rep for the first semester because of one guy who went out on election just for fun, and he got elected just because he was the only boy who went on an election, and there were 4 girls who ran on the election.
4. My cousin who is became a senior this year came to Korea for summer vacation and played with my family two days before she left to Singapore.
5. I dropped my macbook and damaged it, but I didn't notice it until after 2 weeks.
6. I had to walk with two different shoes which had different heights, and it felt really funny and embarrassing.

29. I met my new orchestra teacher, and I think he's okay, but I am still too not adapted into his education.

I couldn't become a class representative of my advisory because of a boy and a girl who went out just for fun. There was only one boy running, so all of the boys voted for him. Before he said that he is going to run, almost all of the people said that they would vote for me, but one boy said that he'll run on the election for fun, because we were not doing the speech. I think that was unfair, so that made me really mad. I was not happy for a few days, just because of that incident.
Journal #8 Write a paragraph about a cat attacking something, but don't use the words hiss, scratch or pounce.
I was sitting on my chair, very bored because I didn't have anything to do. When I was walking around the room, I found my cat's small, squeaky mouse doll. At that moment, I have forgotten that my cat hates people or animals touching or playing with her toys and I picked the doll up. My cat saw me playing with her toy, so she started to run towards me. It was meowing at me, and she was actually staring at me with fearful eyes. I thought she was just looking at me, and I kept squeaking the toy. She jumped on my bed and on me. She used her sharp nails to hurt me, and I got a cut on my arm. She eventually bit me and got her own toy.

Overnight Trip to... Beijing?!
This morning, I was standing on the second floor waiting until the bell rings for 10 minutes before the class. I heard some of my grade girls talking to Mr. Bray, about our overnight trip. I was so curious if we are going abroad this year or not, and YES!!! We are going abroad. Also, it is almost at the end of the September or beginning of October.
Well, I thought we would be able to go to Japan this year maybe, but it was Beijing. I think Beijing is way better than Kyungjoo, and it would be a good place to visit. I was always excited about the overnight trip even during the summer vacation. Overnight trips have been always exciting, even though the destinations were not that exciting places. This time, it is Beijing and 3 nights 4 days, which is longer than last year! Girls always love shopping, so we all wanted Japan a little more, but right now, Yen is too expensive compared to Korean Won. Going to Beijing, and I have never went there!
I think this trip would be extremely exciting and joyful, and I would have a new experience there. I can go around with my friends who are very good and fluent at Chinese, and that would help me learn Chinese, too! I hope it would be the late September or early October soon enough!
Journal#11 Fatima is a very spoiled teenage girl. Show that she is spoiled, by describing what happens when she doesn’t get a car for her birthday.
September 1st, today is Fatima’s 17th birthday. Her family is very wealthy, and she got everything she wanted from her childhood, and 2/3 of them are not used after once. Fatima thinks tho that she is old enough to get a car, so she is expecting get the newest and the best version of Mercedes Benz this year. She enjoyed her fabulous party with many celebrities and her best friends. She keeps thinking that there is something missing in the party all the time, and she was complaining.
Meanwhile, Fatima’s parents were discussing on the present for Fatima. Since Fatima’s mom was also very spoiled and selfish, she wanted to give her beautiful daughter the newest and the best version of Mercedes Benz S class, but Fatima’s dad didn’t agree with that. Fatima’s dad became successful on his own, and got the money from his parents after that, when his parents were actually very rich from his childhood. However, he was not grown up spoiled, and he knew how to save things. Therefore, Fatima’s parents decided to ride the Mercedes themselves, but not give it to Fatima. They have finally decided that Fatima was too young for that valuable car.
After Fatima’s party, her friends went to Fatima’s house to see what present she would get. Fatima was also very curious and excited about her present. When Fatima went home, there wasn’t a car but a big diamond ring, necklace and earring set. Fatima became so mad and ran to her parents. She shouted and complained to her parents why she didn’t get what she wanted, and was kicking where her parents were sitting, and threw the diamond set on the floor. When she got to her room, all her friends were gone, leaving a note that says: "Fatima, we didn't know that you were this disrespectful to your parents. See you later."

I am sitting on a chair in a big, cold class, and I smell something in my mind. I think this smells like a surprise. I smell a party with no visitors, very lonely. The girl who opened the party suddenly seems so excited, and there is happiness and an enormous smile on her face.
The next thing I smell is... a student who is shocked when her teacher tells her that she didn't get an essay from her.

The main character of this cartoon show is a young kid called Small George, and he always makes troubles. He runs around in many places, and his mom hates him doing it. He is curious of so many things, and he loves to tell what happened that day. His grandparents just love them, and his mom doesn’t understand her parents at all.

She was happily walking in the grass, and found a small, beautiful flower. The tiny flower smelled just like honey, and she wanted some. However, there was only one in that huge field. She looked around and searched everywhere in the sunny, beautiful grass field, but she could only find one, single flower of that kind. When she looked under the flower, there was a tiny bottle of liquid, without color. When she opened it, she smelled the exact same smell, the sweet honey smell as the beautiful, small flower. She was so delightful and she ran around with the bottle. Since she ran too much, she was tired and thirsty. She decided to drink that bottle of flower juice, and she did in one gulp. She felt something weird, and she fell asleep. When she woke up, she felt like flying around, and also thought she got smaller than usual. When she went to her house and got into the windows, and saw herself in the mirror, she was a bee! Bea had never before wanted to be a bee. Surprisingly, she was a bee now! She was shocked, and went back to where the beautiful flower and the tiny bottle was. As soon as she saw the flower, she fell asleep again. When she woke up from sleep, and tried to fly, she couldn't! She looked down at her body, and it was her clothes before she actually became a bee. She was so happy to be back to normal, and she started running around again. However, she stopped after a few steps thinking 'Oh! I can't be a bee again!'

I always like to shop, but I can't always buy what I want to all the time I see something that I like. Therefore, I like to eye-shop on the internet websites that cell clothes that I like, and that fits me. There are some nice websites that I like, and some others that my mom uses. The websites that I like have styles of nowadays teenagers, and the websites that my mom use have styles of 20s~30s or maybe 40s. We eye-shop on our own, and tell each other if there is something that we like. We don't buy clothes or bags right away as soon as we see it, but we measure the size, and even see the reviews that other people wrote about that product. It is very exciting and fun to eye-shop on websites, because we don't have to move anywhere, especially on a rainy day, and we can see many different kinds of clothes or other products such as bags, wallets, shoes, and even accessories.

I know that I just wanted to shop on internet with my eye. My eyes were looking, and my hands were already clicking on the button 'buy.' "7th grade China trip is canceled." I heard this from Mr. Schneider, on the conference day. He told me that the 7th grade overnight trip to Beijing is canceled because less than 75% of the students are going. I was almost crying, at the small corner of my heart. Also, us, the 7th graders, have to come to school for the 3 days while 6th and 8th graders are on a fun, interesting and exciting overnight trip. This was the first time that our grade was going abroad, but we missed this chance. I guess many people thought that Beijing is dirty, because it is in China. Many Korean people think that China is lower than Korea, and it is very dirty. Of course it is still a developing country, but it develops very rapidly. Nowadays, people even say that Beijing is almost as clean as Seoul, which means China developed a lot. Well, I will just think that it is dangerous because of swine flu now, but what about Jeju and Japan? They are the same as China, especially Japan. Japan is also abroad, and can't get medication that fast. Well, I admit that China is a little bit more dangerous because they put you into somewhere like a hospital, all alone, like the mental hospitals. I think the 7th graders were unlucky this year, and we will wait for the next year trip! Maybe it would change to a better place!

In a wide open grassland, I was walking my dog for a while. My dog was running and jumping around, and it suddenly saw a bee buzzing and passing by. Also, there was a cat meowing near my dog. My dog started to bark, and it got kind of mad. I couldn't really control my dog, so I took out a crunchy dog biscuit. It started to look at me, and when I threw the biscuit, it dashed to the biscuit and bit it, and at it in a second. My dog hushed for a while, so I gave him another biscuit. He ate it so happily. When we were walking down the street, my dog started to hiccup. We heard the cars beeping, and we saw the people stressed in the cars. I didn't know what day it was, but there were more people the usual on the roads. I walked home, and I flipped over the calender and I found out that it was the day before Chusok today. I went to my mom's house immediately, and I clinked our wine glasses with my siblings and my parents.

Peace Tree Ensemble
I got into an ensemble called 'Peace Tree Ensemble' in high school. I was really surprised when my mom told me about and I could even audition for it! Well, I practiced a lot for my audition and I eventually got in. My friend and I were the only middle school students, but the moms who are in charge of the ensemble said they will open it for the middle school students from now on, too. In the ensemble, there are amazing high school students who are very good at instruments and music. I didn't get into the ensemble as the 1st oboe because there was a freshmen who got into there with me, but it's very fun practicing in there. The ensemble is for a community service, and we perform for the old and sick people. I think it is very meaningful to perform with the talented high school students, and also for the community service, because I think it is very good to experience volunteer works before high school.

I was so happy and excited to go on a trip to New York and Singapore, but my sister seemed like she was sad, and bored to tears. I didn't really care about her, and went on a huge airplane. We were in a huge plane, and the plane was waiting for a departure. When I saw out the window, I saw this small, tiny airplane that was only for travels to near places. The plane that we were riding were brand new, so it was very clean, and it nearly didn't make any sound during the flight. However, the one that I saw out the window seemed very old, and the propeller was broken. Also, it made a very loud sound when it was on departure. The new plane had new equipments and things for safety, so I was very interested to be in there.

I used to know a girl who is very beautiful. She didn't talk for some reason, so people started to call her 'Silence'. Nobody knew whether she liked that name or not. Even though Silence didn't speak at all, everyone was curious about her and wanted to be friends with her. Some kids said that Silence makes their mind be more fresh, and she even makes her feelings better. One day, I met her with bunch of other people around her, and she started to come towards me. Well, I didn't really know why she came to me, but I sat down with her. When she and I were sitting in a huge silence, she started to talk to me. I was so surprised that I couldn't close my mouth at all. She started to tell me her secrets, and why she didn't talk. Now, I'm not going to tell what she told me but this. She was a very loud and she was a chatterbox between her family and friends. However, she found out that being too loud wasn't really good for others. Therefore, everyone was leaving her. She was so lonely at school, and she became so quiet, and didn't talk at all later. She didn't care if people thought she couldn't speak, because she could. 'Silence' got into our school, and many of the people became close to her because they were curious. Silence got to know so many secrets, but couldn't open her mouth because then she would be a chatterbox again and tell all of the secrets. I told her my secrets too, and I felt better when I did. Now, she had a stress because of all the secrets she knew, and she was telling me her own secret. Now, I could make her mind and feelings better for her, and she could still be a great healer for everyone else.

"The grass smells red!" screamed a little girl who arrived at a wide grassland with some flowers. 'What? how can a grass actually smell like a color?' I thought, and talked to myself. When I took a big breath, I found out that it wasn't a normal smell of grass that I usually get. I smelled these berries, instead of the fresh grass.

In advisory class, everyone was talking to each other and played happily. Suddenly, a person came in and we got silent as he did, and it was Chris. We got loud again, but we all got far from the door, and we talked and laughed in the corner of the room. Chris was talking to our advisory teacher, and one of my friends whispered "Why is he back here? I wished he wouldn't come back forever!" All of us didn't even want to look at him, or say hi to him. Now, everyone was pinching their nose tight so they couldn't smell anything. Now, Chris sat down on his seat, so we all moved our desks about 1 foot away from him. No one got closer to him, but went further away from him until the bell rang. We all came out of the room and took a deep breath of the fresh air.

Halloween Theme day
White wings on my back, wearing a white shirt, I was an angel for today. I planned to be an angel, and my friend planned to be a devil. I saw many people in Halloween costumes, such as cow, cat, rabbit, and a wolf. I saw a girl in Harry Potter costumes, and with a hat that determines the house for the school. Many of the students in our school participated on this event, and it was very fun to look at all of them.

Journal#28 Write from the point of view of a freshly scrubbed floor.
I finally got out of that mess, in about few months. A moment ago, a woman just scrubbed and cleaned me. I could see the things in the room brighter, and I found out that they weren't as dirty as I thought. I guess it seemed very dirty because the owner of this room hasn't cleaned me for a long while. I bet that I was the dirtiest floor in this whole building. I was stepped on by children who didn't wash their feet after school, and it smelled horrible. I wished I could pinch my nose with my hand, but I couldn't because I had to stay flat. Now, I could sleep happily in this room.
A day after, I heard the kids running down the stairs, and I closed my eyes. However, nobody came into the room but a person with a carpet. The carpet I saw was very thin, but had a color that I hated... brownish yellow. The color was so ugly that I didn't even want it on me, and I thought 'I would rather be stepped on by children!' but anyways, the man put the carpet on me. I closed my eyes once more, not to see the ugly color that I hate.
Journal#29 Some say you can tell a lot about a person by the vehicle he or she drives. Picture a car. (Or is it a truck? Or an SUV?) In your mind rummage through this car. Check it out from every angle. Descrive the car and the man or woman who goes with it.
I think this car is Mercedes Benz S class 500, which is very classic in the Benz series. It is very expensive, and I can see that it is really clean. When I try to look through the window, There is nothing really inside the car, except for what the car originally contains. At the back, it says 'S 500' very clearly, and it is shining brightly under the sun. The car has a color theme of black, which makes it look more classic. If you actually go in, there is the seats with smooth cover, and it doesn't have any stains at all. I can imagine a senior lawyer at the best lawyer company in Manhattan, New York. She loves fancy brands, and that's why she bought this car. She is always very clear and clean, and doesn't let anything dirty come into her property. She feels like her life is perfect, and she walks around with a lot of shopping bags from the 'expensive' places like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Dolce & Gabanna. Also, she has her nails done all the time, and when it has a scratch, she goes and changes her nail color again, in the professional nail shop. All of this happened in B block, which was math class for me. Suddenly, Mr. Webster came into our class and told us to go down to the nurse immediately. Since it was something to deal with the nurse, we all thought it was about swine flu. We all went into the nurse' s office and actually saw nobody in 7th grade. As we waited, many other classes in 7th grade started to come to the nurse' s office. The nurse moved all of us to the room for meetings. We were all wondering what happened, and we didn't know why we were moving to the meeting room. Then my friends and I saw some brushes for... head lice! I was so surprised. They announced to us that there is someone who got head lice in 7th grade, so we had to check everyone if they had head lice or not. When I thought someone had head lice in our grade, I felt like I was already infected. However, when they checked me, they said that I was okay. We had to go back to our classes after we checked, and we had to take about 15~20 minutes of B block more than the usual schedule. I think it is such a nervous thing to have a person who has head lice in your grade, especially when there are only 100 students in a grade.

This morning, my friends were telling me about the food sale that they were having in their Chinese class. I was excited about going there because I thought there would be very nice food there. My friends said that their Chinese class is B block, and my B block was Math. I was thinking I might not be able to go, but luckily, when all of our class told Mr. Forrestal, and we participated well in class, we finally got to go. He told me to check if there is some room for out class to go, so I went up to the 5th floor in the G building. I was very excited, and asked Ms. Lu, the Chinese teacher, if Mr. Forrestal's math class, which was our class, could come. She welcomed us to come, so I went down to Mr. Forrestal's room and told him that we could go! Our class was all excited, and we got the fake money to buy some food there, and we got to buy some food that my friends made from there, and some of them were delicious. I really enjoyed the time there, and I think this was a good idea for many teachers and students to enjoy and learn some Chinese at the same time.

Reflect on the process of writing a short story. What did you learn from the process? If you had the assignment again how would you approach it?
The process of writing a short story is first getting the ideas for the story. It is quite hard to get the ideas for the story you want to write, but if you keep brainstorming about it, you start to get something in your mind, and finally get a great idea for story. Next, you have to write down what you are thinking in a right way. The readers might not really understand what you want to say, so you have to think about how to cook the idea into a great meal. Also, you need to blend the events very well. Finally, you need to fix the stories a lot. Just like you taste a food and add something, you have to do that with writing a short story. The only difference with the food is that you can take out something from the writing. I learned that I have to think a lot before writing, and not just start writing when I feel like it. I have to organize tings really well, or I will get lost in the middle of the story. If I had this assignment again, I would start to brainstorm on a blank paper, thinking about what to write. Next, I would try to 'cook' the ideas, and read them over and over, until I get what I really want.

There were three people in the elevator, and suddenly the elevator stopped. It was stuck in between two floors, and luckily, the lights didn't turn off. In the elevator, here were a teenager with green hair and many piercings, a pastry chef, and a church organist. The pastry chef shouted with some French accents in English, "Oh no! I have to go as quickly I can, or the cake will melt!" The teenager with a green hair looked at the pastry chef and glimpsed at the cake. He was actually the pastry chef from the best pastry in United States. The green hair girl said to the chef, "Why are you delivering cake on your own? Don't you have the people you employed to make them deliver?" Then, the chef said, "This person is very important, so I have to go on my own. Ah, what will I do if the cake melts!" Suddenly, the church organist said in a quiet voice, "God will save the cake from melting," and the green hair girl shouted, "Huh?? What are you talking about? Are you talking to yourself? By the way, if you think that the cake will melt, I can eat it instead of the 'important person'." "No way! You just want this cake, right? This is for the most important person in the world!" exclaimed the chef. "Um.. I don't think a 'most important person' lives in this apartment. You better find a different place." said the girl, but the chef shouted again. "Non! The most important person lives here, and I know it!" "No way! Why would that person even live here! then I should know too! Who is it? Where does he live?" "Why should I tell you that?!" The church organist broke into the chef and the teenager's fight, and said "The one and only God said you shouldn't fight, and you should respect others. Also, you teenager, that cake is the chef's so let go of it." "No, why should I? I want to eat this cake!" As the teenager took the cake from the chef's hand, the lid of the cake box opened and the cake dropped on the floor. The cake didn't melt, but now it was destroyed. "Oh my god! What did you do to my precious cake! You small kid! How dare you do this to my cake! Are you going to pay for this? Huh?" " Well, I already told you that I want that cake, but you didn't listen to me. So, it's your fault." Then the church organist said, sighing, "Haa... I told you people to not fight. You fought for just a small thing, and now you are both mad at each other. This is why God told you not to fight." As the church organist said that, the elevator door opened slowly, and all three people got off the elevator, one crying, one angry, and the another smiling.

Journal#37 Great-grandpa Rotondo doesn't understand what a video game is. Or an iPod. Or text messaging. Pick one of the above and explain what it is in terms that even the most untechnological person can understand.
"iPod" is just a place to store music and listen to it. You know what a record player is, right? It's what you use all the time when I visit you. The difference is that iPod is way smaller than a record player, and you can download music from the internet. Also, there are things called 'earphones' that lets you listen to the music by yourself, not out loud. You can even change music around all the time, to what you want. You can also download some pictures from your computer, and you can look at them. It has a lot of good programs in it, so you can connect to internet where there is wireless internet, without needing your big, heavy computer. If you want to, you can even download card games and board games to play on that small iPod. You can do a lot of other things with your iPod. You can download the dictionary application and use it, and there's a calculator. The calculator is very useful when you don't have a proper calculator. You can even write some memos, and you can save them in case you forget something. If you want to check something on the web, you can do that. Also, you can download programs to decorate the pictures you have saved in your iPod. iPod is a great device for new technology, and it would be easier to use as you learn it.

I have a dog named Jerry, and he's a boy. He isn't really intelligent, but he's getting smarter and smarter every day. He loves to eat, One day, why en my family was eating breakfast, my sister accidentally dropped one piece of apple. We usually cut the piece into three bites so it would be easy to eat, but my dog just loves apples, and he ate it in one gulp, not to get it stolen from my family. He swallowed it really fast, and after a minute, we didn't see him anymore! When we went to look for him, he was just lying on his bed like he felt really sick. I went to him and I tried to make him more active with his toys, but he wouldn't wake up! I was very surprised that he wouldn't react on toys. Well, I tried to make him get active with snacks, but he wouldn't budge. I was so worried about my dog, Jerry. The next day, my dog still felt very sick. Later in that day, he threw up the apple he ate, and he stayed sick for about 30 minutes, and he got totally fine. I was happy that my dog, Jerry got all fine, and I wished that Jerry wouldn't eat a big piece of apple and be sick again.

If I have three wishes, I would use them for the things I really want. First, I would wish for meeting a celebrity that I really want to meet. Next, I would use it for my family all living happily, without anyone being really seriously injured. Finally, I would go somewhere to play with my friends, and shop however I want, and whatever I want. My first wish, meeting a celebrity that I really want to meet, I really want to do it. The celebrity I like is g-dragon, and I like him very much, so I want to meet him a lot. Next, I want my family not to be injured, because my family is a very precious one to me. I love all of my family, and I think they love me too. They try to do what I want, for me, and they think of me very much. I guess I think of my family a lot, and I care about them. I don't want anyone I care about to be hurt or injured, so that's why I have my second wish. Finally, my last wish is to just do whatever I want, as I go out with my friends. Sometimes, I can't really do what I really want to do, or shop what I have wanting to do for a long time. Therefore, I think shopping and doing what I want is a good way to get all my stress away from my mind, and start over refreshed with my mind. I think it would be very nice and valuable for me to have these wishes, and it would be even better and great if I can really fulfill one of them.

People make many mistakes, and sometimes they think they never make mistakes. Plus, they tell others not to make mistakes, and even ask them why they make mistakes. Since they make mistakes, too, wouldn't they know better? I don't get why people think they don't make mistakes. They can all make mistakes many times in their lives, but some people just don't admit it. In my opinion, making mistakes is a natural and normal thing. However, it's important to not make that mistake ever again. Making mistake is natural, but doing it again doesn't stay as a mistake. Whenever you make a mistake, you must remember that you shouldn't make it again. Also, when you think you might make the mistake again, you should check all the time with yourself. For example, if you didn't print out your homework and forgot to do it, that is just a common mistake you can make. But, the next time you do it again, that makes others think that you are very careless and doesn't try to fix what you did wrong. Therefore, I think making mistake once it okay and normal, but making the same mistake more than twice is just terrible.

"What Not to Eat"
If you want to be thinner and don't want to gain weight anymore, I will tell you what NOT to eat. First of all, don't eat junk food. Junk food have very high calories. For example, if you eat a bar of chocolate or a small bag of jelly, and you do it often, you would gain weight more and more. Another bad thing about the junk food is that it is very addictive. If you start eating one sort of junk food, you want to eat it more and more. Next, don't eat food at night, before you go to bed, of after 9 o'clock. If you eat after nine o'clock, you would probably seem very fat and later on, you would really gain weight. There is another thing I want to tell you on what not to eat. You shouldn't eat food that has a lot of oil. For example, don't eat fried food. Oil in the food makes you have fats, and it would make you fat, too. Finally, don't eat too much cookies or chips. Even though some cookies and chips are home-made, they aren't really good for your health, or you losing weight. These were my advices to lose weight, and not gain weight anymore!

I think not being able to control the weather is an advantage that we have. As we entered the 21st century, we got to control almost everything except the weather. Controlling everything is useful and comfortable, but I don't think being able to control the weather isn't as good. I think it would be convenient to control the weather, because we actually know when it's raining, and when it's sunny. If we get to control the weather, I think I wouldn't enjoy the weather everyday. Many people feel happy when you didn't expect something you like, and it happens. For example, many people like snowing, and they usually don't know it until it happens, even if we have the guesses from the satellite. I think people enjoy guessing and looking at the different kinds of weather everyday, so if we get that fun taken away, it would be a disadvantage for us. Sometimes, things that are unexpected are better for people.

This year, our family found out that we are going to Beijing, China in summer because my dad has been sent there by his job. We are going to live at Beijing for 5 years, and my family likes it a lot. Well, I'm quite excited about going to Beijing, but on the other side, I think I will miss my friends, and the school, which is KIS. I think I will be going to ISB, International School of Beijing. I feel happy that my sister and I can both attend an International School at Beijing, which we couldn't do in Korea. Also, I think this is a good chance for my dad to be at a better place in his company. I wish my family would have a great time at Beijing, and I also hope that my friends in Korea would be well all the time. When I was in second grade, I went to Singapore, to live with my cousin for a year. When I went there, there was a Halloween party at our school on the day before Halloween. I just woke up from my sleep, and I'm so hungry. My battery is almost dead, and so I want new batteries in my body. I couldn't move my body by myself because I had to act like I was not alive, so I decided to sleep more. At about 9 o' clock, I felt like someone was moving me around. Well, when I opened my eyes, I could see the mother of this house was holding me, and of course, when she tried to use me for turning on the TV, it didn't work. I was too hungry to work. She gave me some new, powerful batteries, and I felt like I could fly all around. The mother held me up and pushed the only red, circle button on me. She started to press the buttons for the drama channel, and she went directly to a channel she wanted to watch at that time. Well, I could rest more because the mom didn't really like surfing every single channel on the TV. I could rest on the bed, and I fell asleep again. I woke up when the song for the ending of the drama came up, and I got ready for work again. As soon as the drama ended, the mother turned off the TV again. I was so bored, and I wasn't sleepy anymore. Since I didn't want to sleep, I had to wait for the kids to wake up. It was summer vacation right now, so the kids woke up at about 10:30. When the kids woke up, they came right up to the TV, and they surfed all around the channel, and watched a fun TV program. I was really interested in it, so I watched it. I got more and more tired as the kids surfed the channels, so when they were gone, I slept, and rested

I am Baptized now!
I took me a long time to come up to this point, and I was sometimes bored while doing the studies for this big and wonderful event. I worked very hard to make the tree of baptism grow taller and bigger, and today was the day that the most delicious fruit has come out of it. I was always wondering what the Blessed Sacrament tasted like, and I finally got to take god into my body, by tasting Jesus’s body. Although it took really long to get over all of the ceremonies for baptizing, I was very happy and not tired during the mass.
I have been trying hard to become baptized and be one of the children of the god. However, some people who are done with the studying for baptism sometimes not come to the church anymore. I am very worried if I would do that just because there is actually nobody to hold my hands and pull me up to the hill. I will do my best in the church, and always come to the mass except for when I have more important events. I will always remember this!

I am sitting in my English academy right now, and I am about to sleep, and if someone gives me some time to sleep, I would be able to sleep in a minute. When I peeked at my friend beside me, she was just looking at the board, without the focus in her eyes. Her eyes were almost shutting down, just like a door closing slowly. She was almost gaping once in half a minute, and she seemed like she was too tired and bored so she couldn’t write a word on her paper. Also, she seems like she doesn’t have any energy left because of the boring class, that she can’t even raise her hand to tell the answer to the class when she’s the only one who actually knows and has the answer. She finally gets into sleep, a sweet, but also boring sleep.

The Clock has a round shape, a exact, perfect circle shape. It has three pointers in it, pointing the time of the day. It has a short, thick one, a long, thick one, and a long, thin and slim one. The thin one is the only red one, and it moves every second. The clock is stuck on the wall, and it is doing its work every day, even on the weekends. The short, thick one is pointing between the number 9 and 10. It has the name of where it belongs in between the middle and the top of the clock, and it says ‘KIS’ on it. The ‘KIS’ logo is colored blue, and the brown frame of the clock is keeping the clock safe and thick. The clock seems very strong, holding on to the nail behind it everyday, every second.

I want my bedroom to have a major color of white, black, silver, and gold. The wallpaper would have the background color of white, and gold splashes in various sizes. The floor of my room would be made out of thick glasses, with the pictures of myself, and the celebrities that I love, such as Bigbang and 2pm.
I would only have basic furniture in my room, having a very simple style. My first furniture is my bed. The spread of my bed would be simple white, and a big gold splash, about 1/6 size of the bed. My desk would be black, with a stand of silver color, which has a bending neck and a touch power button. Also, my closet, which is actually inside the wall, would have a slide door with black color, and a gold splash. I would also have a small, white desk with an iPod speaker and my favorite music album in front of the speaker. I would have a poster of G-Dragon, who just released a solo album. I would have a place to put all of my music CDs, organized by categories, and the artists. My bookshelf would be gold, really simple.

I think that was unfair, so that made me really mad. I was not happy for a few days, just because of that incident.

I was sitting on my chair, very bored because I didn't have anything to do. When I was walking around the room, I found my cat's small, squeaky mouse doll. At that moment, I have forgotten that my cat hates people or animals touching or playing with her toys and I picked the doll up. My cat saw me playing with her toy, so she started to run towards me. It was meowing at me, and she was actually staring at me with fearful eyes. I thought she was just looking at me, and I kept squeaking the toy. She jumped on my bed and on me. She used her sharp nails to hurt me, and I got a cut on my arm. She eventually bit me and got her own toy.

Overnight Trip to... Beijing?!
This morning, I was standing on the second floor waiting until the bell rings for 10 minutes before the class. I heard some of my grade girls talking to Mr. Bray, about our overnight trip. I was so curious if we are going abroad this year or not, and YES!!! We are going abroad. Also, it is almost at the end of the September or beginning of October.
Well, I thought we would be able to go to Japan this year maybe, but it was Beijing. I think Beijing is way better than Kyungjoo, and it would be a good place to visit. I was always excited about the overnight trip even during the summer vacation. Overnight trips have been always exciting, even though the destinations were not that exciting places. This time, it is Beijing and 3 nights 4 days, which is longer than last year! Girls always love shopping, so we all wanted Japan a little more, but right now, Yen is too expensive compared to Korean Won. Going to Beijing, and I have never went there!
I think this trip would be extremely exciting and joyful, and I would have a new experience there. I can go around with my friends who are very good and fluent at Chinese, and that would help me learn Chinese, too! I hope it would be the late September or early October soon enough!

Fatima is a very spoiled teenage girl. Show that she is spoiled, by describing what happens when she doesn’t get a car for her birthday.
September 1st, today is Fatima’s 17th birthday. Her family is very wealthy, and she got everything she wanted from her childhood, and 2/3 of them are not used after once. Fatima thinks tho that she is old enough to get a car, so she is expecting get the newest and the best version of Mercedes Benz this year. She enjoyed her fabulous party with many celebrities and her best friends. She keeps thinking that there is something missing in the party all the time, and she was complaining.
Meanwhile, Fatima’s parents were discussing on the present for Fatima. Since Fatima’s mom was also very spoiled and selfish, she wanted to give her beautiful daughter the newest and the best version of Mercedes Benz S class, but Fatima’s dad didn’t agree with that. Fatima’s dad became successful on his own, and got the money from his parents after that, when his parents were actually very rich from his childhood. However, he was not grown up spoiled, and he knew how to save things. Therefore, Fatima’s parents decided to ride the Mercedes themselves, but not give it to Fatima. They have finally decided that Fatima was too young for that valuable car.
After Fatima’s party, her friends went to Fatima’s house to see what present she would get. Fatima was also very curious and excited about her present. When Fatima went home, there wasn’t a car but a big diamond ring, necklace and earring set. Fatima became so mad and ran to her parents. She shouted and complained to her parents why she didn’t get what she wanted, and was kicking where her parents were sitting, and threw the diamond set on the floor. When she got to her room, all her friends were gone, leaving a note that says: "Fatima, we didn't know that you were this disrespectful to your parents. See you later."

When she went to her house and got into the windows, and saw herself in the mirror, she was a bee! Bea had never before wanted to be a bee. Surprisingly, she was a bee now! She was shocked, and went back to where the beautiful flower and the tiny bottle was. As soon as she saw the flower, she fell asleep again. When she woke up from sleep, and tried to fly, she couldn't! She looked down at her body, and it was her clothes before she actually became a bee. She was so happy to be back to normal, and she started running around again. However, she stopped after a few steps thinking 'Oh! I can't be a bee again!'

Therefore, I like to eye-shop on the internet websites that cell clothes that I like, and that fits me. There are some nice websites that I like, and some others that my mom uses. The websites that I like have styles of nowadays teenagers, and the websites that my mom use have styles of 20s~30s or maybe 40s. We eye-shop on our own, and tell each other if there is something that we like. We don't buy clothes or bags right away as soon as we see it, but we measure the size, and even see the reviews that other people wrote about that product. It is very exciting and fun to eye-shop on websites, because we don't have to move anywhere, especially on a rainy day, and we can see many different kinds of clothes or other products such as bags, wallets, shoes, and even accessories.

"7th grade China trip is canceled." I heard this from Mr. Schneider, on the conference day. He told me that the 7th grade overnight trip to Beijing is canceled because less than 75% of the students are going. I was almost crying, at the small corner of my heart. Also, us, the 7th graders, have to come to school for the 3 days while 6th and 8th graders are on a fun, interesting and exciting overnight trip. This was the first time that our grade was going abroad, but we missed this chance. I guess many people thought that Beijing is dirty, because it is in China. Many Korean people think that China is lower than Korea, and it is very dirty. Of course it is still a developing country, but it develops very rapidly. Nowadays, people even say that Beijing is almost as clean as Seoul, which means China developed a lot. Well, I will just think that it is dangerous because of swine flu now, but what about Jeju and Japan? They are the same as China, especially Japan. Japan is also abroad, and can't get medication that fast. Well, I admit that China is a little bit more dangerous because they put you into somewhere like a hospital, all alone, like the mental hospitals. I think the 7th graders were unlucky this year, and we will wait for the next year trip! Maybe it would change to a better place!

It started to look at me, and when I threw the biscuit, it dashed to the biscuit and bit it, and at it in a second. My dog hushed for a while, so I gave him another biscuit. He ate it so happily. When we were walking down the street, my dog started to hiccup. We heard the cars beeping, and we saw the people stressed in the cars. I didn't know what day it was, but there were more people the usual on the roads. I walked home, and I flipped over the calender and I found out that it was the day before Chusok today. I went to my mom's house immediately, and I clinked our wine glasses with my siblings and my parents.

Peace Tree Ensemble
I got into an ensemble called 'Peace Tree Ensemble' in high school. I was really surprised when my mom told me about and I could even audition for it! Well, I practiced a lot for my audition and I eventually got in. My friend and I were the only middle school students, but the moms who are in charge of the ensemble said they will open it for the middle school students from now on, too. In the ensemble, there are amazing high school students who are very good at instruments and music. I didn't get into the ensemble as the 1st oboe because there was a freshmen who got into there with me, but it's very fun practicing in there. The ensemble is for a community service, and we perform for the old and sick people. I think it is very meaningful to perform with the talented high school students, and also for the community service, because I think it is very good to experience volunteer works before high school.

I was so happy and excited to go on a trip to New York and Singapore, but my sister seemed like she was sad, and bored to tears. I didn't really care about her, and went on a huge airplane. The plane that we were riding were brand new, so it was very clean, and it nearly didn't make any sound during the flight. The new plane had new equipments and things for safety, so I was very interested to be in there.

Well, I didn't really know why she came to me, but I sat down with her. When she and I were sitting in a huge silence, she started to talk to me. I was so surprised that I couldn't close my mouth at all. She started to tell me her secrets, and why she didn't talk. Now, I'm not going to tell what she told me but this. She was a very loud and she was a chatterbox between her family and friends. However, she found out that being too loud wasn't really good for others. Therefore, everyone was leaving her. She was so lonely at school, and she became so quiet, and didn't talk at all later. She didn't care if people thought she couldn't speak, because she could. 'Silence' got into our school, and many of the people became close to her because they were curious. Silence got to know so many secrets, but couldn't open her mouth because then she would be a chatterbox again and tell all of the secrets. I told her my secrets too, and I felt better when I did. Now, she had a stress because of all the secrets she knew, and she was telling me her own secret. Now, I could make her mind and feelings better for her, and she could still be a great healer for everyone else.

Write from the point of view of a freshly scrubbed floor.
I finally got out of that mess, in about few months. A moment ago, a woman just scrubbed and cleaned me. I could see the things in the room brighter, and I found out that they weren't as dirty as I thought. I guess it seemed very dirty because the owner of this room hasn't cleaned me for a long while. I bet that I was the dirtiest floor in this whole building. I was stepped on by children who didn't wash their feet after school, and it smelled horrible. I wished I could pinch my nose with my hand, but I couldn't because I had to stay flat. Now, I could sleep happily in this room.
A day after, I heard the kids running down the stairs, and I closed my eyes. However, nobody came into the room but a person with a carpet. The carpet I saw was very thin, but had a color that I hated... brownish yellow. The color was so ugly that I didn't even want it on me, and I thought 'I would rather be stepped on by children!' but anyways, the man put the carpet on me. I closed my eyes once more, not to see the ugly color that I hate.

I think this car is Mercedes Benz S class 500, which is very classic in the Benz series. It is very expensive, and I can see that it is really clean. When I try to look through the window, There is nothing really inside the car, except for what the car originally contains. At the back, it says 'S 500' very clearly, and it is shining brightly under the sun. The car has a color theme of black, which makes it look more classic. If you actually go in, there is the seats with smooth cover, and it doesn't have any stains at all. I can imagine a senior lawyer at the best lawyer company in Manhattan, New York. She loves fancy brands, and that's why she bought this car. She is always very clear and clean, and doesn't let anything dirty come into her property. She feels like her life is perfect, and she walks around with a lot of shopping bags from the 'expensive' places like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Dolce & Gabanna. Also, she has her nails done all the time, and when it has a scratch, she goes and changes her nail color again, in the professional nail shop. To make a long story short, she is the modern woman who loves the shop, and hates being dirty.

All of this happened in B block, which was math class for me. Suddenly, Mr. Webster came into our class and told us to go down to the nurse immediately. Since it was something to deal with the nurse, we all thought it was about swine flu. We all went into the nurse' s office and actually saw nobody in 7th grade. As we waited, many other classes in 7th grade started to come to the nurse' s office. The nurse moved all of us to the room for meetings. We were all wondering what happened, and we didn't know why we were moving to the meeting room. Then my friends and I saw some brushes for... head lice! I was so surprised. They announced to us that there is someone who got head lice in 7th grade, so we had to check everyone if they had head lice or not. When I thought someone had head lice in our grade, I felt like I was already infected. However, when they checked me, they said that I was okay. We had to go back to our classes after we checked, and we had to take about 15~20 minutes of B block more than the usual schedule. I think it is such a nervous thing to have a person who has head lice in your grade, especially when there are only 100 students in a grade.

This morning, my friends were telling me about the food sale that they were having in their Chinese class. I was excited about going there because I thought there would be very nice food there. My friends said that their Chinese class is B block, and my B block was Math. I was thinking I might not be able to go, but luckily, when all of our class told Mr. Forrestal, and we participated well in class, we finally got to go. He told me to check if there is some room for out class to go, so I went up to the 5th floor in the G building. I was very excited, and asked Ms. Lu, the Chinese teacher, if Mr. Forrestal's math class, which was our class, could come. She welcomed us to come, so I went down to Mr. Forrestal's room and told him that we could go! Our class was all excited, and we got the fake money to buy some food there, and we got to buy some food that my friends made from there, and some of them were delicious. I really enjoyed the time there, and I think this was a good idea for many teachers and students to enjoy and learn some Chinese at the same time.

Reflect on the process of writing a short story. What did you learn from the process? If you had the assignment again how would you approach it?
The process of writing a short story is first getting the ideas for the story. It is quite hard to get the ideas for the story you want to write, but if you keep brainstorming about it, you start to get something in your mind, and finally get a great idea for story. Next, you have to write down what you are thinking in a right way. The readers might not really understand what you want to say, so you have to think about how to cook the idea into a great meal. Also, you need to blend the events very well. Finally, you need to fix the stories a lot. Just like you taste a food and add something, you have to do that with writing a short story. The only difference with the food is that you can take out something from the writing. I learned that I have to think a lot before writing, and not just start writing when I feel like it. I have to organize tings really well, or I will get lost in the middle of the story. If I had this assignment again, I would start to brainstorm on a blank paper, thinking about what to write. Next, I would try to 'cook' the ideas, and read them over and over, until I get what I really want.

There were three people in the elevator, and suddenly the elevator stopped. It was stuck in between two floors, and luckily, the lights didn't turn off. In the elevator, here were a teenager with green hair and many piercings, a pastry chef, and a church organist. The pastry chef shouted with some French accents in English, "Oh no! I have to go as quickly I can, or the cake will melt!" The teenager with a green hair looked at the pastry chef and glimpsed at the cake. He was actually the pastry chef from the best pastry in United States. The green hair girl said to the chef, "Why are you delivering cake on your own? Don't you have the people you employed to make them deliver?" Then, the chef said, "This person is very important, so I have to go on my own. Ah, what will I do if the cake melts!" Suddenly, the church organist said in a quiet voice, "God will save the cake from melting," and the green hair girl shouted, "Huh?? What are you talking about? Are you talking to yourself? By the way, if you think that the cake will melt, I can eat it instead of the 'important person'." "No way! You just want this cake, right? This is for the most important person in the world!" exclaimed the chef. "Um.. I don't think a 'most important person' lives in this apartment. You better find a different place." said the girl, but the chef shouted again. "Non! The most important person lives here, and I know it!" "No way! Why would that person even live here! then I should know too! Who is it? Where does he live?" "Why should I tell you that?!" The church organist broke into the chef and the teenager's fight, and said "The one and only God said you shouldn't fight, and you should respect others. Also, you teenager, that cake is the chef's so let go of it." "No, why should I? I want to eat this cake!" As the teenager took the cake from the chef's hand, the lid of the cake box opened and the cake dropped on the floor. The cake didn't melt, but now it was destroyed. "Oh my god! What did you do to my precious cake! You small kid! How dare you do this to my cake! Are you going to pay for this? Huh?" " Well, I already told you that I want that cake, but you didn't listen to me. So, it's your fault." Then the church organist said, sighing, "Haa... I told you people to not fight. You fought for just a small thing, and now you are both mad at each other. This is why God told you not to fight." As the church organist said that, the elevator door opened slowly, and all three people got off the elevator, one crying, one angry, and the another smiling.

Great-grandpa Rotondo doesn't understand what a video game is. Or an iPod. Or text messaging. Pick one of the above and explain what it is in terms that even the most untechnological person can understand.
"iPod" is just a place to store music and listen to it. You know what a record player is, right? It's what you use all the time when I visit you. The difference is that iPod is way smaller than a record player, and you can download music from the internet. Also, there are things called 'earphones' that lets you listen to the music by yourself, not out loud. You can even change music around all the time, to what you want. You can also download some pictures from your computer, and you can look at them. It has a lot of good programs in it, so you can connect to internet where there is wireless internet, without needing your big, heavy computer. If you want to, you can even download card games and board games to play on that small iPod. You can do a lot of other things with your iPod. You can download the dictionary application and use it, and there's a calculator. The calculator is very useful when you don't have a proper calculator. You can even write some memos, and you can save them in case you forget something. If you want to check something on the web, you can do that. Also, you can download programs to decorate the pictures you have saved in your iPod. iPod is a great device for new technology, and it would be easier to use as you learn it.

I have a dog named Jerry, and he's a boy. He isn't really intelligent, but he's getting smarter and smarter every day. He loves to eat, One day, why en my family was eating breakfast, my sister accidentally dropped one piece of apple. We usually cut the piece into three bites so it would be easy to eat, but my dog just loves apples, and he ate it in one gulp, not to get it stolen from my family. He swallowed it really fast, and after a minute, we didn't see him anymore! When we went to look for him, he was just lying on his bed like he felt really sick. I went to him and I tried to make him more active with his toys, but he wouldn't wake up! I was very surprised that he wouldn't react on toys. Well, I tried to make him get active with snacks, but he wouldn't budge. I was so worried about my dog, Jerry. The next day, my dog still felt very sick. Later in that day, he threw up the apple he ate, and he stayed sick for about 30 minutes, and he got totally fine. I was happy that my dog, Jerry got all fine, and I wished that Jerry wouldn't eat a big piece of apple and be sick again.

I love all of my family, and I think they love me too. They try to do what I want, for me, and they think of me very much. I guess I think of my family a lot, and I care about them. I don't want anyone I care about to be hurt or injured, so that's why I have my second wish. Finally, my last wish is to just do whatever I want, as I go out with my friends. Sometimes, I can't really do what I really want to do, or shop what I have wanting to do for a long time. Therefore, I think shopping and doing what I want is a good way to get all my stress away from my mind, and start over refreshed with my mind. I think it would be very nice and valuable for me to have these wishes, and it would be even better and great if I can really fulfill one of them.

Free Write (Mistakes of people)
People make many mistakes, and sometimes they think they never make mistakes. Plus, they tell others not to make mistakes, and even ask them why they make mistakes. Since they make mistakes, too, wouldn't they know better? I don't get why people think they don't make mistakes. They can all make mistakes many times in their lives, but some people just don't admit it. In my opinion, making mistakes is a natural and normal thing. However, it's important to not make that mistake ever again. Making mistake is natural, but doing it again doesn't stay as a mistake. Whenever you make a mistake, you must remember that you shouldn't make it again. Also, when you think you might make the mistake again, you should check all the time with yourself. For example, if you didn't print out your homework and forgot to do it, that is just a common mistake you can make. But, the next time you do it again, that makes others think that you are very careless and doesn't try to fix what you did wrong. Therefore, I think making mistake once it okay and normal, but making the same mistake more than twice is just terrible.

Free Write (Santa Claus in my heart)
Many children believe that Santa Claus exists, and even people my age still believe that Santa Claus exists. As Christmas comes closer, we can see many children talking about Santa Claus. Some children get excited because they think that real Santa is going to come to her house and leave her present under the Christmas tree. Some children even believe in Santa because they want to get presents. There are different Santa Claus for everyone, and it depends on how you believe in it. I think my Santa Claus is my family. My family is a real Santa for me, even though the Santa Claus with the white beard doesn't come to me, my Christmas is always full, and it will be happy forever, because I will be with people who I really love, which is my family. Santa Claus is always beside me, and I feel great warmth by a Santa Claus like the family's hug.

"What Not to Eat"
If you want to be thinner and don't want to gain weight anymore, I will tell you what NOT to eat. First of all, don't eat junk food. Junk food have very high calories. For example, if you eat a bar of chocolate or a small bag of jelly, and you do it often, you would gain weight more and more. Another bad thing about the junk food is that it is very addictive. If you start eating one sort of junk food, you want to eat it more and more. Next, don't eat food at night, before you go to bed, of after 9 o'clock. If you eat after nine o'clock, you would probably seem very fat and later on, you would really gain weight. There is another thing I want to tell you on what not to eat. You shouldn't eat food that has a lot of oil. For example, don't eat fried food. Oil in the food makes you have fats, and it would make you fat, too. Finally, don't eat too much cookies or chips. Even though some cookies and chips are home-made, they aren't really good for your health, or you losing weight. These were my advices to lose weight, and not gain weight anymore!

For the last two days you were not in school because of the weather- "snow days." As advanced we have become in the 21st century, we still can not control the weather. Do you think this is an advantage or a disadvantage?
I think not being able to control the weather is an advantage that we have. As we entered the 21st century, we got to control almost everything except the weather. Controlling everything is useful and comfortable, but I don't think being able to control the weather isn't as good. I think it would be convenient to control the weather, because we actually know when it's raining, and when it's sunny. If we get to control the weather, I think I wouldn't enjoy the weather everyday. Many people feel happy when you didn't expect something you like, and it happens. For example, many people like snowing, and they usually don't know it until it happens, even if we have the guesses from the satellite. I think people enjoy guessing and looking at the different kinds of weather everyday, so if we get that fun taken away, it would be a disadvantage for us. Sometimes, things that are unexpected are better for people.

Well, I heard that your roommate wasn't quite nice, but I still think you had a wonderful time there.

Free Write (Going to Beijing)
This year, our family found out that we are going to Beijing, China in summer because my dad has been sent there by his job. We are going to live at Beijing for 5 years, and my family likes it a lot. Well, I'm quite excited about going to Beijing, but on the other side, I think I will miss my friends, and the school, which is KIS. I think I will be going to ISB, International School of Beijing. I feel happy that my sister and I can both attend an International School at Beijing, which we couldn't do in Korea. Also, I think this is a good chance for my dad to be at a better place in his company. I wish my family would have a great time at Beijing, and I also hope that my friends in Korea would be well all the time. I will miss all of my friends, and I think I would have a great time at Beijing, just like I did here!

Write about a memory related to a holiday
When I was in second grade, I went to Singapore, to live with my cousin for a year. When I went there, there was a Halloween party at our school on the day before Halloween. In Korea, we don't really have Halloween parties, so I was very excited to have the first big Halloween party. My cousin, my sister who visited me from Korea, and I went to my school in Halloween costumes. We went into some scary places, and played games related to Halloween. It was really fun for me when I was second grade, and I had a smile all the time on my face. The next day, which was actually Halloween, it was my cousin's birthday. She had a birthday party in Halloween theme in a big room in the apartment building that she borrowed. My cousin and I changed into Halloween costumes.

Write from the point of view of a TV remote control
I just woke up from my sleep, and I'm so hungry. My battery is almost dead, and so I want new batteries in my body. I couldn't move my body by myself because I had to act like I was not alive, so I decided to sleep more. At about 9 o' clock, I felt like someone was moving me around. Well, when I opened my eyes, I could see the mother of this house was holding me, and of course, when she tried to use me for turning on the TV, it didn't work. I was too hungry to work. She gave me some new, powerful batteries, and I felt like I could fly all around. The mother held me up and pushed the only red, circle button on me. She started to press the buttons for the drama channel, and she went directly to a channel she wanted to watch at that time. Well, I could rest more because the mom didn't really like surfing every single channel on the TV. I could rest on the bed, and I fell asleep again. I woke up when the song for the ending of the drama came up, and I got ready for work again. As soon as the drama ended, the mother turned off the TV again. I was so bored, and I wasn't sleepy anymore. Since I didn't want to sleep, I had to wait for the kids to wake up. It was summer vacation right now, so the kids woke up at about 10:30. When the kids woke up, they came right up to the TV, and they surfed all around the channel, and watched a fun TV program. I was really interested in it, so I watched it. I got more and more tired as the kids surfed the channels, so when they were gone, I slept, and rested

I think this quote, "If you don't risk anything, you risk more." is that if you don't risk for anything, not risking may be risking more in your life. If you don't try to do something beyond the obvious, and just do something at an average rate, that may be risking for your life.
