Journal entry 1
Chapter three was about the lotus-eaters, who kept sleeping after eating the flowers (lotus) created by Greek god Morpheus. Morpheus knew what these people (including Ulysses) were dreaming about. After Ulysses woke up, he knew right away that the smell of the lotus flower is making him sleep. So he decided not to eat it. His men were all asleep in the ground, so he had to carry them all the way to the ship. Then, they sailed away from the isalnd.

Journal 2
Ulysses is a really great hero, and his leadership for his men and his courage for fighting saves him from obstacles. He has strong looking eyes with red hair.

Journal 3
It would be kind of confusing if a person was not exposed to the environment in Cannibal beach since the cycle of day and night change quickly. Also, when someone climbs the giant (which looked like trees) at day time, it would be night time by then when they finish climbing. So unless they look very closely at the giant, you won't be able to know whether it is a giant or a tree.

Journal 4
Ulysses thought it was better to sail right around the sirens and man-eating monsters and sail right back home. This meant that he was going to ignore what the ghosts said. I also experienced a similar thing. When I was solving a difficult math question, my brother helped me on it. Still, I thought his answer was wrong, so I solved the problem my way(and got it wrong...) :(

Journal 5
I would be willing to get to or see my first dog because she died even before spending 1 week at my house. Even though she is dead, I want to get to her because of her friendliness. It felt like she was part of our family.

Journal entry 6
The three things that Father Quinel told Asta’s son was that his name was Crispin, his mother knew how to read and write, and that Lord Furnival is very ill, and he will die soon. One thing that he promises to tell Crispin is about his father.
