Ulysses chapter 4 summery Jin J
Ulysses landed on a mountainous island. When they arrived as his crew were complaining about food. They didn't have a slot of food so they were complaining. When they had found a island with the scent of food they tried to go inside. By later Uysses reliezed the it was the cave of cyclopes. Cyclopes were the monsters that was punished by Zeus. They were trapped by the cyclopes but came up with a plan. Ulysses gave them some wine and the Cyclopes were drunk. Ulysses then their crew stabbed them in the eye and ran off with success by grabbing on their wool. Responding to literature Why did Ulysses' men betray him and open the bag of winds from Aeolus? What happened to those men? They betrayed Ulysses because Poseidon made a clinking sound with his "golden armlets" and so it sounded like coins in the bag. The two men thought the sound was in the bag so they open the bag with their swords. When they opened the bag a rush of wind wipped them out of the deck and splashed into the ocean.
What would it be like to live on Cannibal Beach? What problems would it create to have a quicker cycle of day and night? How do you think this kept Ulysses from discovering what the trees were?
It would be very hard to survive in these hard conditions. The instant change in the darkness and brightness could be hard for the people to manage and it can be stressful. Also people can't get a lot of sleep and can't find much food in the dark. In the story, since night came right after the short time of day. Plants can't be produced by the lack amount of sunlight. It can also be in low temperature because there was a short amount of sunlight.
1. Crispin encounters two dead men shortly after fleeing the village. How does each affect him? It makes him worry that if he dies he would be in bad luck. Also he panics and didn't know what to do. He only worries about his life and that the stewards would capture him.

Internal Conflict:
Crispin was having a internal (self) conflict when he was wondering if he should go to save Bear or not. Later on Crispin had decided to go and help him.
Setting:
The dark alley way.
Chapter 54
Symbol:
“But here, at one end of the square, stood the palace of the Furnivals. It was huge and dark, save for two windows on the second level. There, some dim light glimmered.”
Climax:
The most exciting part of this chapter was when Crispin was going up to the balcony. He was dangling from the beast statue that was under the balcony which made me very worried for Crispin that he would fall in front of the guards under him.
Irony:
It was quite ironical when Crispin had gone up to the balcony so safely. Even if he had went very carefully without trying to make any sound by moving up between the two buildings, it would have made some major noises while going up. I think this was ironical because even our footsteps would sometimes make noises but Crispin had gone up safely without the guards getting noticed.
