Family History: My Sister Reading strategies and resources
CH4 Summary
Ulysses and his men has landed on an island, the island of the Cyclopes. Although Ulysses does not realize that until later, but when he does, he acts fast. The greediest of the Cyclopes, Polyphemus noticed the ship coming and waited for them to follow the smell of roasting rams and trapped them inside his cave. Ulysses devised a plan to make the giant creature drunk, and to burn his single eye with his sword. Before he did that, he told the creature his name was Nobody. When Polyphemus is blinded with his eye, Ulysses and his men make a run for it with under the rams bellies when the other Cyclopes come to investigate. They quickly go off to continue their journey, and Polyphemus prays to Poseidon to make the mighty but proud Ulysses to endure many hardships on his journey on the sea.

Prompt 1
Ulysses' skin is tanned to an olive-toned color from under the bright sun in the violent battles. His hair is as black as his eyes are and he has formed a thick beard from the tedious years of war. His body, fit as a young soldier but his eyes show the wisdom and tiredness shown from an elder. He has formed burrows under his eyes and on his forehead from longing of his family, and homeland. He can be as sharp and quick as a young fox but he relies on his brute strength when it comes to fighting and leading. Although he can show wisdom, he can be as greedy as a cyclops and tempted by females easily. However he can be as stubborn as an ox but does not realize that it can hurt other people around him.
Prompt 2
Ulysses's men betrayed him because Poseidon tricked the men to think that Ulysses was hiding treasure in the bag. They became greedy and thought that it was unfair for Ulysses to have all of it. So they cut open the bag to steal it but, since it was not treasure but the winds, they were blown off course and the savage winds began to tear apart their boat. The men were blown away to the sea because of the winds that blew out.

Prompt 3
I think it would be very adventurous and scary to live in Cannibal Beach. You would have to hide somewhere, but there would be nowhere since all the trees are giants. There would problems such as not getting enough sleep, and not enough daylight to work or find food and water. I think this kept Ulysses from finding out because he couldn't see that the tree was a giant and when he would try to climb it, it would become too dark to climb. Writing strategies and resources
