Italians, Yugoslavs, Ecuadorians, and Americans were in her community.
Quidlen’s children were friends of the different people in the community so connected the two family together.
Quindlen has stayed in this town before so she gets along with her neighbors. Since she understands both the people that have stayed in this town for a long time and people who just moved here.
Because of the children’s role of connecting different families, the people in the neighborhood got along “on a micro level”.
Critical Thinking Interpret
The neighborhood thinks that the people that stayed in this community for a long time should not be close to the people who just moved in.
Even though it makes a clear division of old and the new, it shows us that every communities unite even though they are different.
Quindlen is trying to make people feel welcomed in the society and to feel that they are a part of the community. When she finds this important she also finds out that the other citizens may feel lonely without any of the others helping them.
I think that Quindlen will tell the people that there may be some misunderstanding between different culture so they should try to understand the other cultures and respect the other cultures as well.
Evaluate
I think that it would be rare to be in both “them” and “us” because you need to understand and welcome both of the different people to unite them.
I think that the story suggests that since America is a place with a diversity of different culture, the citizens should try to unite with the other culture to learn and also to be a stronger community.

Summary of the Musical
The play was about a girl who was born and found by peasants. The girl meets a boy dead so she brings him in her home and treats him. The god of death makes a deal that the girl can give up her life for the boy to survive. The girl has a boy she loves but the boy that she loves is in a upper class so she cannot marry him. So the girl is told by the gods that she could kill the boy and in return she could not die. Even though the girl tries to kill the boy she can’t and so she dies and the 4 gods who pity her make her into a tree. The musical was very thought out and the actors put in a lot of effort in it. Even though it was the middle school musical I think it was the best I saw. The only thing that bothered me was that I couldn’t hear the sounds of some people talking and singing. If there was another musical i think it would be more awesome than this one. Crispin encounters two dead men shortly after fleeing the village. How does each affect him?
