Ulysses should be quite old by age because he has spent 10 years already just in the Trojan War. However, I think he is still young inside because when he and his crew arrives on the Lotus Land, he thinks fast and judges that the flowers were making the crew sleepy. Then, he lifts up all his men into the ship. If he was very old he would never be able to do that because he wouldn't be able to think well and wouldn't be able to carry all his men onto the ship.
I think Ulysses has a big beard on his chin and a think whisker under his nose because in the book said that the sailors rubbed their beard. Plus, during a war he wouldn't have much time to care about his appearance, so he should be a bit shaggy and hairy. He should also look brave and tough because when Morpheus took the first glance of him, he judged that he was a hero. If he wasn't brave and smart his men won't follow him as respectably as now and there would've been a mutiny already because they were forced to throw their loot overboard.

In class assignment for Mon., Sept.14, 2009. Answer the following journal question. What would it be like to live on Cannibal Beach? What problems would it create to have a quicker cycle of day and night. How do you think this kept Ulysses from discovering what the trees were? Post to the wiki/journal/response to literature.

I wouldn't want to live in cannibal beach because there are cannibal giants living there. The problems with shorter day and night
is that everything you do has to shorten up, such as, eating lunch, going to school, and to play with your friends. Because it was dark Ulysses couldn't tell if the tree was actually a giant. Because the days and the nights are shorter, Ulysses and his crew had less time to get to their ships before the giants awoke.

Journal entry 4: One of my dilemmas were to either go to KIS or a korean local school. When I arrived to Korea I had to decide which school to go to after getting accepted in KIS. I chose KIS because I wasn't very fluent in korean and I thought that I'll forget English when I go to a korean school. I think that I can go to a korean local school when I get older because if I lose the chance of comming to KIS I might not be able to go to a international school again.
