Journal Entry #1

Ulysses's appearance and how he acts.

I think he will have a big chest, strong arms with muscles and he wear great armor and sword on the side of the body. He also had hard metal helmet. I described like this because he won trojan war with his great strength. I'm not sure but i think he had some mustache because Ulysses on the cover page had some mustache. I can find clue that Ulysses and his men would be very smelly because I'm probably sure that he didn't shower for a lot of days or years. This is just my guess.

I think Ulysses was a smart and cunning man. He also act as a captain in his ship and war. He is brave enough to fight with any monster or magical creatures. He uses his cunningness, power, smartness to save his crew too. For example he thought fast on the lotus land that he should leave soon while other soldiers sleeping and eating lotus flowers. In chapter one Ulysses didn't have feast with other soldiers. Instead of feast he watched any enemies coming.
In these actions I can see that he will be known as one of the greatest leaders of all time in his country and throughout the whole sea of cunningness and smartness.images.jpeg

Why did Ulysses's men betrayed him and open the bag of winds from Aeolus? What happened to those men?

Ulysses's men betrayed him and opened the bag of winds from Aeolus because they thought that there were treasures in that bag. Those two men thought it was gold because the bag was lump as balloon and they heard the clinking sound. Also Ulysses didn't talk to his crew what is in that bag and warned them not to open it. He even kept awake for 9 days and 9 nights and guarded the leather bag so his crew thought it was something valuable. When they opened the bag, they were lifted off and blown into the sea as the strong winds blew out of the bag.

What would it be like to live on Cannibal Beach? What problems would it create to have a quicker cycle of day and night ? How do you think this kept Ulysses from discovering what the trees were? (Journal#3). I think it would be cool and nice to live on beach if there isn't any monster. Like this case if there is monster it would be really scary to live. It will create faster cycle of day and night, you have to do work faster and you will not going to have longer sleep. Giants were still and he was bit kind of probably sleepy because of his trip and it was night and he couldn't see well.

Journal Entry #4 Ulysses - In Chap. 9,The Wandering Rocks, Ulysses has to decide
what to do for himself. All of the advice that he has been given turns out to be useless.
What does he decide to do? Have you ever been ination that required you to
make an important decision on you own? How did you decide what to do?

When all of his advice given turns out to be useless, he decided sail northward. I had situation like Ulysses when he met the wandering rocks. When I had to choose the 3rd language for this semester it was very difficult for me to choose Spanish or Chinese, however, I decided to choose chinese. Because I think chinese is more popular in the future. It was my own decision.
