After Ulysses had had that dream, he realized that all those were coming true. While he was on his boat, he noticed that all his crew were tired, exhausted, hungry, and thirsty just like he was so they landed on an island; but this island was the worst and the most dangerous island from the scattered islands surrounding it. But they didn’t know this. As soon as they landed on the island, they smelt roasting beef and followed the smell into a giant cave. When they went in, they saw Polyphemus, the cyclops leaning above them, and Polyphemus ate 2 men. As soon as that happened, Ulysses fed Polyphemus some wine, and made him fall asleep. Ulysses then said that his name was Nobody, not Ulysses. They poked Polyphemus in the eye and ran off. Since Polyphemus was Poseidon’s son, Polyphemus asked Poseidon to make Ulysses’ voyage to be a harsh one and that’s how Poseidon was going to do.
